Logitech MX Anywhere 2S Mouse Broken - Single Click Becomes Double Click Without Replacing Micro Switch Solution

After fixing the mouse button double-click issue last time, I wondered if I could also rescue the mouse that had scroll wheel jumping and failure problems. After searching online, I found it was a mouse scroll wheel encoder issue. Most solutions required a soldering iron to replace the encoder, but I also found a simple method that solved the problem without replacing the encoder.

The solution is to disassemble the mouse and apply oil to the encoder. Some suggest using alcohol, perfume, lubricant, or sewing machine oil. I used the lubricating oil that came with my hair clipper.

Disassemble the mouse and locate the mouse encoder.

Apply oil to the appropriate position on the encoder. You don’t need to use too much.

These are all solutions that don’t require replacing parts, but if the parts are actually broken, replacement is still necessary. I used to think a broken mouse was trash, but now I know these things can actually be repaired. Remembering I have a pile of broken mice I never threw away, I immediately ordered a soldering iron kit, ready to resurrect these dead mice. If I fix them all, I’ll save quite a bit of money!
