Fixing Ubuntu 11.04 wireless network card driver unable to find wireless networks. I recently wanted to adapt to 11.10, so I installed 11.04. However, this issue may continue to persist in 11.10 because the official team hasn’t received any bug reports about this problem.

The main cause is driver issues. First, remove the Broadcom STA wireless driver in Additional Drivers, then check your network card model. You can use the command: sudo lshw, which lists all PC hardware models. Find the network-related section to see your network card model. My local network card model is: BCM4311 802.11b/g WLAN. Most cases of this issue involve this network card, and you can even install the fix directly.

However, you need to first connect via wired network to install the driver. Command:

sudo apt-get install firmware-b43-installer

After installation, restart, and you’ll find the wireless network appearing. You can now find and connect to wireless networks.
