Solution for Maxthon 3 auto-downloading when opening webpages. Maxthon 3 was quite a failure - sometimes when opening webpages it would automatically invoke Maxthon downloader to download the HTML page.

This issue is caused by Maxthon’s download feature. By default, it can only download through Maxthon downloader or other download tools, not IE download. Additionally, there’s a bug in how Maxthon’s webkit kernel identifies web page file headers and file types.

Temporary solution:

In Maxthon 3’s installation directory, delete MxDownloader.exe under Maxthon3\Bin. Deleting this program will restore IE download, or whatever download program you have associated.
